Nerds Live from Readercon!
In which we interview twelve amazingly talented nerds!
Today is the release date of our fourth episode of The Nerd Count Podcast. In this episode, we come you you Live from Readercon, the “conference on imaginative literature,” held this past July in Quincy, Massachusetts.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Jeffrey Ford, A.T. Greenblatt, A.C. Wise, Scott H. Andrews, Mike Allen, A.T. Sayre, Julie C. Day, C.S.E. Cooney, William Alexander, John Wiswell, Rob Cameron, and Sophia Babai.
We talk about Readercons past, what makes Readercon a truly special convention — particularly its welcoming and friendly vibe — and we talk with each guest about their recent and upcoming creative works. This was a blast to record, and we had so much fun talking to all these diverse and talented folks!
Be sure to check out our past episodes on Writing Groups, Conventions, and Pansting vs. Plotting.

Next episode is an interview with the fabulous Cat Rambo!
I made the above 3d render recently. All the models are my creations, with the exception of the wheeled trucks and the people, which are free assets from Sketchfab. This depicts a scene from my forthcoming novel, Space Trucker Jess, in which the people of the planet Gilder Nefan hold a quarterly Bazaar. Here, trader ships traveling a circuit of worlds sell goods in a huge open market. The people of Gilder Nefan smoke or ingest a psychotropic drug known as sweet jisthmus in order to reach transcendent states of consciousness. Through this, they are able to commune with inscrutable god-like aliens known as numens. But the sweet jisthmus doesn’t grow on Gilder Nefan — it grows off-world and only comes via the quarterly trade.
The book drops in 2025, but I’ll be posting a few teaser chapters here in the next few weeks.
I also have a new short story collection coming out! But more on that later.
